Negotiate:
This cannot be over emphasized, don’t be scared of negotiating, most vendors would be willing to give you a discount or work with your budget. If they can’t offer a discount they would most likely give additional benefits.
Ask for help:
Friends and relatives would be more than happy to get involved in your wedding preparations, some people would offer to take care of some bills or help you with the running around. If your friends offer bridal services you can get huge discounts from them. However, this is a bit tricky as most people are eager to make promises to help but slow on delivering.

Hire a Wedding Planner
Seems silly considering you are trying to cut costs but having someone negotiate good deals for you would make up for it. A wedding planner can always work with your budget to give you the best.
Attend Wedding Expo’s and shows
If there is a Wedding Expo in your city its best you attend it, you have most wedding vendors under one roof and vendors always offer great deals and giveaways at such events.

Make yourself pretty
Instead of hiring a makeup artist, you can do it yourself, there are lots of free tutorials on Youtube showing how to achieve that flawless look for your wedding day.

Have your hair done in a salon:
Once you tell a hair stylist you are getting married and you would like home service the price sky rockets, you could choose instead to have the weaves sewn in a day before in a salon then tong and pin up the hair yourself or a friend could help do that on the morning of your wedding. You also don’t have to use all the high end Brazilian and Mongolian weaves there are so many affordable weaves that look and feel like human hair which you can also curl with tongs.

Weekday wedding:
Having your wedding on a week day is much cheaper than on a Saturday, you have less people to cater for and you could get amazing deals on the halls and other vendors whose jobs come mainly on weekends.

Reception Venues:
Most churches have halls which they rent out for a small amount or even free as far as you clean up after the wedding. You could also check schools in your neighbourhood most are willing to give out their field or halls for a small amount also. Book a hall that has chairs, tables and a public address system these would save you a lot of money that would have gone into rentals.

Merge two Ceremonies:
This is a new trend some people might find strange, you can opt to have the traditional rites done during the white wedding reception; all you have to do is change into your traditional outfits halfway through the reception and perform the rites. This is easier these days as the dowry is often paid before the traditional marriage day.

Wedding gown rental:
Opt to rent your bridal gown instead of buying a gown, you can rent a gown from anything between N15, ooo –N60, 000. Instead of buying a new veil you can borrow one from a friend who just got married.
